I was born and raised in the lovely city of Marion and I attended PG Elementary, then West McDowell and then I graduated in 2007 from McDowell High. I graduated from Western Carolina University in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Communications. I am certified in 6-9 Math and I also have a Master’s Degree in School Administration that I received from ASU in 2016!
My first year teaching took place at Nebo Elementary in which I was a Kindergarten teacher. The next year, I taught 1st grade in Jacksonville because my husband, who was an officer in the Marine Corps at the time, was stationed there. I taught there half the year because a LONG deployment was upon us and there is NO place like Marion, NC and being surrounded by family! Luckily, a position was open at West McDowell as a 7th/8th grade Math teacher! I spent the following year teaching 7th grade but after we went from WJH to WMMS, I moved to 6th grade! This is my 6th year teaching and will be my 4th year coaching Cheer. Oh and I am the mother to the sweetest little baby, Noah! He made his debut in July 2015 and he is my pride and joy!!
