Diana McEntire, School Nurse

Welcome to the Nurse's Corner.
My name is Diana McEntire and I am the school nurse at West Middle School and Foothills Community School.
I have been a registered nurse since 1994 and have been a School Nurse since 2006. I received my Associate's Degree from Foothills Nursing Consortium. Then, after becoming a School Nurse, I returned to school at Winston-Salem State University to obtain my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. In 2009 I became Nationally Certified in School Nursing. I can honestly say I love what I do and look forward to working with the students and staff on a daily basis.
On the bottom right side of this page, you will see in Blue "Nurses Corner."  This is my nurse website.  On this site, you will be able to find many things related to school health as well as other things related to my schools. I will try to include topics related to middle school health throughout the year.  You will also have access to.....
  1. Office hours that I am at the school, phone and fax numbers as well as my email address.
  2. There is a link to my Google calendar for each month's activities.   It will also include a list of events and things for you to look for each month.
  3. On the right side are for forms for Health Concerns your child may have.  Please feel free to make a copy of these and send them to me at school as conditions occur or change.
  4. There is also a copy of the Medication Authorization form there.
My normal hours are Monday-Friday 8 am until 3 pm. Please feel free to give me a call at 652-3390.  I also welcome you to come in and visit if needed.  I do suggest that you to call in advance to make sure I am available at that time.
I love working with the Middle School kids.  They are still young enough to want to learn, and old enough to see its importance. My favorite quote is: You can't educate people that are not healthy.  But you certainly can't
keep them healthy if they're not educated." -Jocelyn Elders-.  I believe this is so true.
My goal is for your child to remain healthy and be able to attend every day possible to learn.  Let me know how I can help.
